- The world’s largest shopping center is the $1.1 billion West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada. Finished in 1985, it covers some 5.2 million sq.ft. It houses 800 stores, 11 major department stores and can accommodate 500,000 shoppers and 20,000 vehicles each week.
